South Park made Best Musical Moments

South Park dvd has been on for just over 13 years. It's gone from being a cult hit to a mainstream success to what is arguably a cultural institution. It started out as a relatively simple show that featured potty-mouthed kids who found themselves in surreal situations. As the years went on, South Park dvd box set increasingly focused its energies on satire and parody, winning numerous awards in the process. Over the course of its long run, one of South Park dvd set strengths has always been its music. From the Oscar-nominated Bigger, Longer and Uncut movie to the recurring use of songs in the series and a number of albums, there's countless examples of the show's genius use of music. So what we're going to do here is create the single most definitive list of all time. Either that or choose ten of the best that will inevitably lead to people shouting about what we left out. We'll probably do the latter. The following are songs the kids actually sing in the series or original songs used as themes in the background usually performed by creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. And for the record, we all love the movie more than our own wives. However, the movie would make up half of the list if we included it, so this selection is only from music that made an appearance on the show itself.

New characters for Season 4 of True Blood

What new characters for us in Season 4 of True Blood dvd? Well, Michael Ausiello got the scoop about some of the major newbie faces you'll be seeing. As always, if you've read the Charlaine Harris novels then you already have a good idea of what lies ahead. Alan Ball has already talked about how excited he is to bring out the witch-tastic Hallow Stonebrook character, but here are some of the others:Marnie – a bottom-barrel fortune teller "who's painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch." Ausiello speculates that this might actually turn out to be Hallow.Portia – Sheriff Andy's lawyer sister. Described as being "as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom." And yes, she'll be naked a lot.Naomi – a sexy Asian-American cage fighter who is runs "hot n' heavy" with one of her female competitors.Queen Mab – an "elegant beauty who presides over a fantasy land." We're not sure, as of yet, if this is the same "land" as Sookie's dream-world fairyville, or something different.Suzanne McKittrick – a bitchy "Real Housewives type who throws a hootenanny to bond with her kind. Shifters? Vamps? Moonsnakes? Okay, I made that last one up.True Blood dvd box set shining beacon of this season was Dennis O'Hare's Russell Edgington, as I'm usually a sucker for erudite, sophisticated villains who can turn ferocious and blood-thirsty at the drop of a hat. O'Hare managed to spice up the proceedings in a way that none of the other new characters could. He also really brought a sense of history and to the vampiric goings-on and lent that world a much needed aristocratic boost.

Jessica Simpson Focus on Her Weight

Jessica Simpson says she's taken a beating by being scrutinized by the press for her fluctuating weight and public romances – but the singer focuses on the good things in her life."There's no way you're not going to be affected by the ugly things people say about you," Simpson told us in Long Beach, Calif Monday. "It's very hurtful. It definitely brings up a lot of your own insecurities." But Simpson, who says she's "the happiest I've ever been," is focused on the positive people in her life, rather then the ones who only want to bring her down."It takes a great family and wonderful friends and love definitely helps, to get through it," she says. Jessica Simpson, who just turned 30, says she's at the perfect place in her life. "I love being 30," she says. "The moment I turned 30, I really did feel a switch in my life. I had this coming of age moment. I love the woman inside of me."The singer, who has been very vocal about her adoration for beau Eric Johnson, continues to praise the man she says, "brings out a lot of light in me." "He definitely makes me happy and makes me very comfortable being who I am," she says. "It's nice to be with somebody who praises you for all the right reasons." So, are wedding bells in the works for Simpson and Johnson? Not yet, says the singer, but definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that's in my future.New Recommended
